Delete your data

Last updated 7 September 2026

You can delete your PostPlan account yourself, at any time. It happens immediately, it cannot be undone, and you do not have to ask us.

How

In a browser:

  • Sign in to PostPlan.
  • Go to your account settings.
  • Choose Delete account, type your password to confirm, and type DELETE.

In the PostPlan app:

  • Sign in to PostPlan.
  • Tap Account, at the top of the Business tab.
  • Choose Delete account, type your password to confirm, and type DELETE.

Either one deletes the same account and the same data. There is nothing that can only be deleted from one of them.

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@postplan.uk from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.

What is deleted

Everything that is yours, permanently:

  • Your account, your email address and your password hash
  • Every signed-in session, on the web and on the phone
  • Your businesses and everything you told us about them
  • Your content pillars, your posts and your planned posts
  • Your photographs and the composited versions of them, deleted from storage as well as from the database
  • Your brand colours and overlay settings
  • Your Instagram connection, including the encrypted access token, and the record of what was published

What is not deleted, and why

Three things outlive the account. Two of them cannot be linked back to you once it is gone; the third can, and needs a word from you.

  • The record that an invitation was used. We keep the invite code and the fact it was spent, with the link to you removed, so a code cannot be quietly recycled.
  • Counts of AI usage. We keep how much the service was used and what it cost, with the link to you removed, because that is our own billing record rather than information about you.
  • A waitlist email address, if you gave us one. If you asked for access on the front page before you had an account, that address is stored on its own, with no link to any account. Deleting your account does not remove it — not because we keep it deliberately, but because nothing connects the two and we cannot tell they are the same person. Email privacy@postplan.uk and we will delete it.

The first two are stripped of any reference to your account at the moment you delete it. Nothing you wrote or photographed is kept.

Two things deletion cannot reach

  • Posts already on Instagram. Once something is published it belongs to your Instagram account, not to us. Delete those in Instagram.
  • PostPlan’s authorisation on Meta’s side. Deleting your account destroys our copy of your access token, so the app cannot post as you afterwards. It does not revoke the permission at Meta. To remove that too, open Instagram, go to Settings and privacy → Website permissions → Apps and websites, and remove PostPlan.

Backups

Deleted data can persist for a short period in our database provider’s routine backups before those rotate out. It is not reachable by the app and is not used for anything.
